2017 GRAND WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED IN HALLE/LEIPZIG

The 2017 Grand Winners will be crowned at a special ceremony to be held in Halle/Lepizig (Germany) right after the Karate 1-Premier League event. The last Karate 1-Premier League of the season takes place in Halle/Leipzig from September 8th to 10; the announcement of the best karatekas of the year in the series of first-class international competitions will put the finishing touch to a memorable season.

Karate fans will get to know the new heroes of the sport in less than two weeks. As the season of Karate 1-Premier League comes to an end with the final event in Halle/Leipzig (Germany), the 2017 Grand Winners will be proclaimed at a special ceremony scheduled for Sunday, September 10.

 

The Grand Winner awards honour the top competitors of the Karate 1-Premier League season in each one of the categories of international Karate. Athletes earn points for their performance in Karate 1-Premier League events based on their final standings in the competitions and number of bouts won. The top-ranked karatekas who comply with the participation ratio of competing in three tournaments and in two continents will be awarded the season’s Grand Winner.

One of the most important distinctions of international Karate, the Grand Winner award recognises the most successful and persevering competitors of the year in Karate 1-Premier League, thus celebrating the true heroes of the sport.

Nearly 40 top karatekas in the 12 categories of international Karate are still in the race to become the 2017 Grand Winners. After a year of Karate 1-Premier League full of surprises, the competitors to be crowned the best of the best hope to win in Halle/Leipzig the final points to get the coveted award.
